Q: I have been doing some hindu mantras for almost a year. I am renting a room and therefore do not have the luxury to have a dedicated ‘sacred’ room to mantra, in fact, I don’t even have enough privacy to do my daily mantra.
It is imperative to have a dedicated space to perform mantra? I literally live my life in the small room I rent.
A: Think of the space in the center of your heart as your sacred, private space, and chant there! You can chant silently if privacy is an issue.
Something is always better than nothing when it comes to doing our spiritual practices. We can’t always wait for the “perfect” environment which may never come. Good for you for working with what you’ve got.
